Who’s Behind the Lens?
Makayla Miller is a published freelance photographer from Stone Mountain, Georgia. She was introduced to photography during her final years of high school and turned her passion into a business during her freshman year of college. While working to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Journalism at Georgia Southern University, she successfully managed her freelance photography business, KaySnapped Photography. While completing her studies, Makayla produced an archive of both written and filmed news pieces; please feel free to check out her journalism portfolio. Aside from her photography, she also works part-time as a production assistant at WSB-TV in midtown.
There are no rules when it comes to photography, but there is one rule that Makayla follows; never hold back. Her motto, “It’s not a picture being taken, but a vision being captured”, is more than a slogan, it’s our truth. We all have different perceptions of the world around us and interpret life in our own ways. Through the medium of photography, Makayla is able to not only capture the beauty and essence of the people around her, but she is able to bring her visions and the visions of others to life.
