Wear Your Hair Like a Crown
WYHLAC, originally curated by my close friend and business partner The Jaren Stephens, was intended to be a project to celebrate black hair during this year’s Black History Month. It quickly gained traction and attention with over 70+ models inquiring on being a part of such a culture-driven project. We knew that this project would be big and impactful, but we were presented with the opportunity to reach a nationwide platform. This project is driven by and in partnership with The Crown Act. This law was put in place to prohibit the discrimination of people based on the style of their hair and its texture. With your support, we could be one step closer to changing the narrative of black and brown people being accepted in any environment, no matter how they decide to wear the crowns on their heads.
